Apparently today was the ‘conference angle’ day with the local sportswriters. Both John Rhode and Berry Tramel from NewsOK.com went after a Big 12 v. SEC story today when discussing OSU-Georgia. There are two consensus opinions about Oklahoma guard Willie Warren at this summer’s 2009 LeBron James Skills Academy. The first one is that Warren, a rising sophomore expected to be a 2010 lottery pick, is the best guard among the college counselors at the camp. That group includes players from Maryland’s Greivis Vasquez to Georgia Tech’s Iman Shumpert to Michigan State’s Kalin Lucas.

And this pre-season, if you are a college football fan, you cannot avoid the hype of the 2009 Florida Gators. Tim “The Legend/Second Coming” Tebow is back, eleven starters are back on defense, and the schedule sets up pretty well with no Bama or Ole Miss and the FSU rivalry game at home. Certainly @LSU and Georgia in Jacksonville are tough matchups, but UF handled both these teams easily last year. However, there is a fly in the ointment – and it is on the offensive side of the ball.
