Sooner TE Jermaine Gresham to enter 2010 NFL Draft

Posted in OU on September 30th, 2009 by BSN

It was a sad ending to a terrific Sooner career for Oklahoma Sooner TE Jermaine Gresham as coach Bob Stoops confirmed that Gresham will enter the NFL draft next year.  Gresham was a huge weapon and nightmare matchup for opposing defenses with his combination of size, speed and hands.  He was a difference maker in the 2009 BCS Championship game against Florida as he caught two TD passes against the vaunted Gator defense.  Gresham was expected to play a key role for this year’s Sooner offense, but unfortunately, injured his knee before the season opener against BYU.   Most experts projected him to be a first round pick had he left for the NFL last year.
