Texas 72 Oklahoma State 60
Freshman swingman Jordan Hamilton scored a career-high 27 points, and No. 9 Texas finally slowed down James Anderson in the
second half for a 72-60 win over Oklahoma State last night in Stillwater, Okla.
The Longhorns (19-3, 5-2 Big Twelve) had lost three of their previous four games after reaching No. 1 in the nation for the first time in school history. But they got back on track vs. the Cowboys (16-6, 4-4), winning in a building that’s been a house of horrors for Texas teams with top-10 rankings.
Texas had lost the last three times it brought a top-10 ranking into Gallagher-Iba Arena. This time, the Longhorns fell behind by 11 in the first half before Hamilton got going.
He scored all but two of his points in the final 22 minutes and put the game away with a three-pointer from the right wing with 2 minutes, 19 seconds left to give Texas a 13-point lead.
