Norman, OK – The Oklahoma Sooners roared out to a 48-30 halftime lead and held on for an 80-71 upset win over the #9 Texas Longhorns at the Lloyd Noble Center. Tommy Mason-Griffin scored 24 points (5-7 3pt) and Cade Davis poured in 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Sooners. OU goes to 13-9 overall and 4-4 in Big 12 play. Texas has now lost 4 of 6 and falls to 19-4 overall, 4-4 in the Big 12. Key stat of the game: Texas finished 10 of 27 (37%) from the free throw line while OU made 20 of 28 (71%).
Brandon Richardson scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half and Nebraska pulled away from cold-shooting Oklahoma for a 63-46 victory and its first Big 12 win Saturday night.
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -With its top two scorers injured and in street clothes, Oklahoma built a big lead, then held on to beat Iowa State 89-84 Wednesday night behind Tommy Mason-Griffin and Cade Davis.
Tommy Mason-Griffin had 26 points and Tony Crocker added 20 but it wasn’t enough as Texas Tech rallied in the 2nd half for a 75-65 win over the Sooners in Lubbock. OU’s Willie Warren (avg 17.6 ppg) did not play due to a sprained ankle. The Sooners fall to 11-8 overall, 2-3 in conference and are barely hanging onto the NCAA Tournament bubble at this point in the season.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas | Texas A&M caught a much-needed break Tuesday night. In the 10 days since their last victory, they had fallen to then-No. 13 Kansas State and No. 1 Texas in a brutal week of road games. The Aggies needed 39 1/2 minutes to take the lead for good against Oklahoma, but with clutch play by Donald Sloan and multiple missed shots by the Sooners, they pulled out a 65-62 win.
